To become a licensed real estate sales associate in Florida, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old

• Have a high school diploma or GED

• Complete a state-approved 63-hour pre-licensing course and pass the course final exam

• Submit electronic fingerprints through a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)-approved provider as part of a background check

• Pass the Florida real estate state exam

Renewal periods occur every 18 months to 2 years, with renewal dates falling on either March 31 or September 30, depending on when the license was issued.

Sales associates must complete 45 hours of post-licensing education from a state-approved provider before their first renewal deadline.
